Hi, I’m Laura Weiss. I’m passionate about balanced layouts, elegant animations and minimalist web design.

I'm a Senior Brand Designer on the Marketing Team at Udacity. I spend my days focused on creating delightful brand experiences, fooling around with illustration and soaking up as much design knowledge as possible.

Before arriving at Udacity, I was the Lead Brand Designer at G2, a Senior Visual Designer on the Product Design Team at ThinkCERCA, and, prior to that, the Lead Visual Designer on the Brand Design Team at Sprout Social for 5+ years. At Sprout Social I managed a team of 8 designers and worked closely with marketing to elevate and define Sprout Social's brand. Prior to Sprout, I was part of the inaugural UX apprenticeship class at the boutique web design studio Fresh Tilled Soil. And before discovering my calling as a graphic designer, I worked as an Assistant Account Executive at Mullen in Boston.

My skills include pretty much any Adobe program, but my favorites are Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere Pro. I have experience with web, print and identity design, in addition to experience with illustration, animation and video editing. I occasionally like to get my hands dirty in HTML and CSS. In addition to a graphic design foundation, I have a traditional art background in life drawing and figure sculpture. I also enjoy tremendous amounts of tedium.

When not designing, I spend my time reading way too much and hanging out with my rabbit, Roger.
